Telepath: One Year Later
It has been nearly a year since I launched Telepath, a job board website designed for remote workers in Thailand. This feels like the right moment to reflect on the journey so far, share achievements, acknowledge challenges, and outline future goals.
Telepath was launched to the public in February 2024. In the beginning, it was a side project with minimal investment and no revenue. Realizing its potential, I sought funding to scale operations. Today, Telepath is a registered company, supported by DEPA (Digital Economy Promotion Agency).
Achievements
Here’s what Telepath has accomplished over the past year:
30,618 website users
2,311 registered users
615 jobs posted
1,207 company profiles created
385 recorded applications
2,473 unrecorded application clicks
233 social media followers
44,404 community members
Challenges
Profitability: Telepath is not yet profitable. The silver lining is that the platform’s maintenance requirements are minimal.
Growth Strategy: To conserve resources, we rely on organic growth, which demands consistent effort and patience.
Lessons Learned
Data Collection is Crucial: In the early days, I chose not to require user registration for job applications, prioritizing user experience. This decision led to a significant loss of valuable data. Moving forward, data collection will be a priority.
Start Social Media Early: While I successfully grew a Facebook group, I overlooked other platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. Building a social media presence takes time, so it’s best to start as early as possible.
Looking Ahead
As we enter 2025, I am focusing on two main objectives:
Organic Growth: Increasing platform users enhances its value. Since we can’t afford to pay for all traffic, I’ll prioritize organic strategies, including SEO, social media, and video content.
Sales: Revenue is essential for sustainability. I plan to engage more with customers to better understand their needs and shape the platform’s direction.
Final Thoughts
The journey so far has been both challenging and rewarding. With the lessons learned and a clear focus on growth and revenue, I am optimistic about Telepath’s future. Here’s to another year of progress and innovation!
